Al Areen Palace and Spa joins the leading hotels of the world
Al Areen Palace & Spa (formerly the Banyan Tree, Bahrain) is the latest luxury property to be a member of the prestigious collection of The Leading Small Hotels of the World, the boutique offering from The Leading Hotels of the World.  The resort features 78 luxurious villas each with their own private courtyard, swimming pool & jet pool. Mövenpick to open four Dubai hotels in six months
As the global hospitality industry continues to ponder the pace of business, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, in partnership with real estate developer, Seven Tides, prepares for the opening of more than 1,000 rooms over four properties in Dubai, UAE.  The 396-room Ibn Battuta Gate Hotel is a property of iconic stature both inside and out, which is cleverly inspired by the journeys of the 14th century Arabian explorer Ibn Battuta himself. The hotel is located in New Dubai and set to open its doors in October.  Next to open, is the 216-room Mövenpick Hotel Deira which has its sights set on offering an efficient welcome to visiting business executives, inquisitive shoppers, small meeting groups & lunch and dinnertime diners in Dubai’s traditional locale of Deira on the north-side of the creek from November.

Jumeirah Group to make Egypt debut
Jumeirah Group, the Dubai-based luxury hospitality company and member of Dubai Holding, has signed an agreement with Palm Hills Developments (PHD), one of Egypt’s premier developers, to manage Jumeirah Gamsha Bay Resort, a new five-star deluxe resort located in PHD’s Palm Gamsha resort on the Red Sea, Egypt.  The luxury 250-room hotel is on the mixed-use development of Palm Gamsha, an integrated community of more than 20 man-made islands forming the shape of a seahorse, located 47 km north west of Hurghada airport. The combination of Jumeirah’s expertise in luxury hospitality and PHD’s development of a prime location is expected to transform Gamsha Bay into a leading world destination

Saudi hotel capacity to reach 308,000 rooms
The number of hotel rooms in Saudi Arabia is expected to reach 308,000 by 2014, up from 230,000 in 2008, as efforts intensify to accommodate the projected 6.5 per cent year-on-year increase in tourist arrivals in the country. Religious tourism remains the main driver of Saudi Arabia’s tourism industry with millions of Muslim pilgrims visiting the country annually, prompting a surge in development projects to boost tourism and hospitality infrastructure around religious sites.

Coral to run Jeddah hotel
Extending its commitment to the Saudi Arabian hospitality market, Coral Hotels & Resorts has entered into an agreement with Al Fanar Group to manage the company’s new hotel in Jeddah, the Red Sea city. Currently under construction, the property, located at the prestigious Jeddah Corniche, will open early in 2011. Coral Jeddah will feature 54 rooms, eight suites and eight studio apartments as well as two restaurants, a rooftop café and three function rooms, a health club and a pool.
