Singapore
gears up for Formula One festivities
Tens of thousands of racing fans from around the world are expected to
convene in Singapore from September 25 to 27 for the Formula One SingTel
Singapore Grand Prix. This year’s race will be an historic event as we
welcome more international travellers and friends from the Middle East to
our vibrant and exciting city. With Singapore gearing up to host the world’s
only night race for the second year, we are kicking off a range of grand
prix-themed events and surprises – including the highly anticipated F1 Rocks
concert – providing regional visitors and international crowds with
memorable experiences both on and off the track.
Dubai’s
Harbour Hotel & Residence joins Marriott
The 261-unit, 52-storey Harbour Hotel & Residence, at the entrance of Dubai
Marina,has join the Marriott International lodging portfolio on September
15, under a recently concluded agreement with Emirates Airline and Group,
which retains ownership of the property. Following some modifications,
primarily to its public space and reconfiguration of some rooms bringing the
new room count to 232 rooms, the property will be rebranded the Dubai
Marriott Harbour Hotel & Suites later this year and will be the first
upscale Marriott-branded hotel in the city.
The
Address Hotels & Resorts to expand in Dubai
The Address Hotels & Resorts is further increasing its portfolio in Dubai
with the emirate set to welcome two new hospitality destinations, namely The
Address Dubai Mall and The Address Dubai Marina. The Address Dubai Mall will
be directly linked to The Dubai Mall, one of the world's largest shopping
and entertainment destinations. Situated in close proximity to Burj Dubai,
the world's tallest building, and The Dubai Fountain, The Address Dubai Mall
will feature 244 rooms, 449 serviced apartments and five dining options.
Rosewood
Corniche celebrates second anniversary
This month has seen Rosewood Corniche celebrate its second anniversary in
operation, and its proclaimed status as Saudi Arabia’s leading hotel. “In
two years of operation since our opening in September 2007, we were named
Saudi Arabia’s Leading Hotel, a tremendous honour for the entire team at
Rosewood Corniche,” said managing director, Rosewood Corniche, Hans-Peter
Leitzke. Rosewood Corniche is positioned on Jeddah’s Corniche with
convenient access to the city’s business and leisure areas.
Ramada to
manage three hotels in Thailand
Wyndham Hotel Group, one of the world’s largest hotel companies with some
7,000 hotels and 11 brands, recently announced the signing of the company’s
first management agreements in Bangkok, Thailand. Currently under
development, the properties include the 188-room Ramada Encore Soi 10 –
Bangkok, the 98-room Ramada Hotel & Suites Soi 12 – Bangkok, and the
150-room Ramada Bangkok Sukhumvit.
Yemen
welcomes first Millennium hotel
Millennium & Copthorne Hotels has announced the signing of its first hotel
in Yemen, Millennium Gold Mohur Beach Resort Aden, fronting the Gulf of
Aden. The five-star beach resort hotel will feature 124 rooms and suites, a
private beach, recreational facilities, and a variety of food and beverage
outlets. As part of the repositioning plan for Millennium Gold Mohur
Beach Resort Aden, the hotel will undergo a renovation plan to help boost
the facilities.
