The
Address, Downtown Burj Dubai opens
The Address, Downtown Burj Dubai, the first and flagship property from Emaar
Hospitality Group’s home-grown brand, The Address Hotels & Resorts, has
recently opened its doors to guests.At 306m in height, the 63-storey hotel
is the second tallest tower in Downtown Burj Dubai, and consists of 196
rooms and suites, as well as amenities to suit both business and leisure
travellers. Guests staying in suites or executive rooms who arrive in the
afternoon, evening or midnight will have the option of keeping their room
for up to 24 hours without having to follow the traditional check-out time
of 12 noon, while all check-ins are processed at the airport lounge, in the
limousine en route to the hotel or in the guestrooms upon arrival.
Announcing Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi
Hyatt Hotels & Resorts and Abu Dhabi National Hotels (ADNH) recently
announced the signing of a management agreement for Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi.Set
to be located on the northern part of Saadiyat Island and surrounded by an
18-hole golf course, Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi will boast a 9km stretch of
natural beach. Scheduled to be complete in 2010, the property will be the 34th
hotel in the Park Hyatt portfolio, the fourth Hyatt hotel in the UAE and the
ninth in the region.
Leisure
offerings boosting regional tourism
Travel within the GCC, which currently accounts for some 30 per cent of
inbound traffic for GCC countries, is expected to grow a further eight per
cent by 2012 as a growing number of GCC families, who chose to travel
abroad, will travel within the GCC.This according to CMPi UAE, organisers of
Middle East Attractions, Amusements, Parks, Leisure and Entertainment
International Trade Exhibition (MEAAPLE), which is scheduled to take place
from February 2 to 4, 2009 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
Radisson
to open in Morocco
The Rezidor Hotel Group has recently announced that the 155-room Radisson
Resort & Spa, Tangier, Morocco, Rezidor’s second resort in the country, is
scheduled to open its doors in 2010. Their portfolio in Africa now comprises
more than 20 hotels with almost 5,400 rooms in operation and under
development. This emerging region offers a huge potential. The Radisson
Resort & Spa, Tangier, will be located on the east end of the Bay of
Tangier, in the Ghandouri area, spread out over 2.7 hectares on a slope
towards the Mediterranean Sea.
New $2
billion resort planned for Libya
Berjaya Oyia Development, a joint venture between Malaysian-based Berjaya
Leisure (Cayman) Ltd and Libyan-based Oyia Co for Development and Tourism
Investment (Oyia), is to develop a mixed-use project in Libya's capital and
largest city Tripoli. The development , which will be created in phases over
ten years for a cost of $2 billion, will include a 300-room luxury hotel, a
300-room business hotel, an 18-hole signature golf course, residential and
commercial property and a public park.
Dubai
welcomes new Rotana property
Rotana, one of the leading hotel management companies in the Middle East,
