The Palace, The Old Town
emerges in Downtown Burj Dubai
The Palace, The Old Town has opened its doors in The
Old Town Island, Downtown Burj Dubai, the flagship development by Emaar
Properties. The Palace is managed by Sofitel Luxury Hotels and forms an
integral component of Emaar’s mega project. The luxury hotel offers direct
views of Burj Dubai, the tallest building in the world and is surrounded by
the Burj Dubai Lake.
“As a unique luxury hotel within Downtown Burj Dubai, The Palace combines
the charms of an Arabian palace with the intimacies of home. The hotel will
appeal to leisure and business visitors alike and carries 242 beautifully
appointed deluxe rooms, including 81 suites all with balconies overlooking

Kempinski strengthens footprint
A series
of management agreements have been signed by Kempinski Hotels and Nesco
Egypt for Tourism Investment for five properties located in Egypt, Morocco
and Syria. “These are landmark projects to be involved in, all of them being
situated in the top tourist and business destinations in the Middle East and
Africa,” said president, Kempinski, Middle East & Africa, Ulrich Eckhardt
Malaysia targets
tourists from UAE
Malaysia
Tourism Promotion Board (MTPB) announced that it aims to target 50,000
tourists from the UAE in 2007. According to director, MTPB, Tuan Razali Tuan
Omar, Malaysia was on track to attract a total of 300,000 tourists from the
region by the end of this year through a strategic partnership with
Singapore Airlines (SIA) to promote a special travel package for the UAE's
residents, in line with the Visit Malaysia Year 2007 campaign.
Dubai in popular demand with cruise travelers
In a
short space of time, Dubai has established itself as one of the leading
cruise destinations between Europe and Asia. To further strengthen
this position and to present Dubai as the destination of choice, Dubai
Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing’s (DTCM) executive director,
convention and heritage, Awadh Al Ketbi, and manager for Cruise Terminal,
Jamal Saif Humaid, led a delegation to the Cruise Fair Seatrade Europe in
Hamburg.
Beach resort in the pipeline for Qatar
Qatar
National Hotels Company (QNHC) plans to launch a world class sea front beach
resort on Salwa Road in Qatar, according to chairman, QNHC, Sheikh Nawaf bin
Jabor bin Jassim Al Thani. QNHC has plans to develop a number of
high-end properties in the near future, to add to the company’s already
impressive portfolio.
Marina Hotel Kuwait scoops WorldHotels awards
Marina
Hotel Kuwait has been named Best Performed Hotel in the world and in the
European, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region for 2007 by WorldHotels, the
11th largest global affiliate hotel group for independent hotels.
The Safir-managed beachfront property received the awards at the second
WorldHotels Leadership Forum last week in Rome. |
