Familiarization Tour 2011

Norwegian Cruise Lines and Unique Choice organized a Fam trip for 12 leading tour operators from Saudi Arabia, U.A.E, Qatar and Oman on board 19 Deck 329 Meter Long wonder on the Sea NCL EPIC.

NCL Epic which had its inaugural sailing in June 2010 introduced many first to the World of Cruising such as The first new Wave Cabins at Sea, The First Ice Bar, studio cabins for Single Travelers etc.

Participants were wowed by it sheer size and quality. All were taken on Inspection around the ship by very friendly Mr. Ettaine.

It was great but needed quite a long walk around to look around 21 Dining choices, 20 Bars and lounges, Bowling alleys, climbing walls, Aqua Park with 2 swimming pools, Kids Pool, 6 Hot Tubs, 3 Water Slides, Exclusive Courtyard area with 60 Suites and Villa’s.

All participants arrived in Barcelona on the 08 October and accommodated at two prime addresses in Barcelona, the fabulous 5* Arts Hotel Barcelona and Classic Claris Hotel. Had a city tour in the afternoon.

Had an Inspection of one of the latest 5 star arrivals in Barcelona the W BARCELONA and hosted for Dinner by it’s Management team.

During lay over in Florence we had the opportunity to explore the Ancient and ever vibrant city of Florence. All enjoyed the visit to Starwood complex housing St Regis Florence and Westin Excelsior follows by Lunch at Westin.

Having sailed on two previous occasions , I must admit The EPIC was most enjoyable on all fronts..

The Highlight for me was the SPACIOUS private deck attached to the BALCONY stateroom and the BLUE MAN groups performance.

Freestyle cruising was the key, and so TRUE to its word.

The age group of the passengers Was a talking point, a varied age group with a perfect combination of young and old, that is not often the experience of Cruising..

Including the pre and post tours , land excursions and fabulous hotels which were carefully chosen to match the high standard of the EPIC …..
