More premium hotels for Bali
BALI's upscale property market is getting a boost this year, with more than
600 rooms and 80 villas being added in Legian and Seminyak. After some
postponements, Accor's Pullman Bali Nirwana finally opened its doors on
February 28. The resort has 353 rooms and suites and is targeting leisure,
corporate and MICE travellers, according to general manager Philippe Battle.
The W Retreat & Spa Bali – Seminyak, which had also postponed opening a few
times, finally welcomed guests on March 1 to its 158 rooms and suites and 79
villas. Amadea Resort & Villas, opening in Seminyak by the second quarter,
will add 93 rooms and suites and seven pool villas to Indonesia’s Prime
Plaza Hotels & Resorts’ inventory.
Best Western to launch four
Malaysia hotels
BEST Western International will open four hotels in Malaysia this year,
adding to its Best Western Kinabalu Daya Hotel in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.The
chain's flagship property in Malaysia, Best Western Premier Dua Sentral, is
scheduled to open in Kuala Lumpur by the third quarter. Three other
properties are set to launch in Malacca, Sandakan and Pangkor by end-2011
Anantara opens new hotel in
Maldives
Anantara is proud to announce the opening of a new luxury retreat – its
third resort in the Maldives – namely Anantara Kihavah Villas. Set on
Kihavah Huravalhi, one of the most pristine Maldivian islands, the resort is
located only 35 minutes by seaplane from Male International
Airport. Comprising 74 one-bedroom villas and four two-bedroom residences,
each property boasts personal infinity-edge pools, dining pavilions,
expansive wooden sundecks and areas complete with swinging daybeds, hammocks
and sun loungers. Guests at Anantara Kihavah Villas can also enjoy 78
spacious private pool sanctuaries, ranging from 260 to 860m2
Fairmont expands its worldwide
portfolio
Fairmont Hotels and Resorts is pleased to announce that it continues to
expand its brand presence globally, with a number of hotel and mixed-use
projects in its development pipeline. The Fairmont Hotels and Resorts
developments are expected to be completed over the next few years in Baku,
India, Cairo, Fujairah, the Philippines, Dubai, Colorado, Abu Dhabi, Sanya,
Oman and Saudi Arabia. During 2012 and beyond Fairmont Hotels and Resorts is
expected to open its next UAE hotel also in Fujairah, entitled Fairmont Mina
Al Fajer, which is designed to consist 88-rooms with dedicated meeting
facilities, a Willow Stream Spa and a marina. Moreover, Fairmont Hotels and
Resorts is to further expand its UAE growing portfolio with the opening of
Fairmont Palm Jumeirah.
Millennium launches major
regional expansion in Oman
MILLENNIUM & Copthorne (M&C) has soft opened a waterfront resort overlooking
the Gulf of Oman. The Millennium Resort Mussanah features 234 guestrooms and
74 fully-furnished apartments, ranging from studios to two-bed duplexes -
all with high speed internet access and in room media hubs – as well as
meeting and conference facilities and a choice of cosmopolitan restaurants.
The resort is the first hotel in Oman by Millennium & Copthorne Hotels and
the group’s ninth in the region following sister hotels in Dubai, Abu Dhabi,
Qatar and Kuwait.
Danat Takes over Al Ain
Resort
Following a comprehensive rebranding, the Garden City’s former
InterContinental Al Ain has been rebranded as Danat Al Ain Resort. The
30-year-old property is owned by the National Corporation for Tourism and
Hotels (NCT&H) and is the sixth to be managed by Danat Hotels and Resorts.
The venue is already a favourite for weekend getaways but the company is
looking to further invest in the property in the near future and bring the
hospitality level within the Garden City Al Ain to a new level. The resort
features 216 rooms and suites, 22 villas, nine restaurants, coffee shop,
night club, meeting rooms, fitness club, spa and outdoor pools. |
