Renovation at Genting Hotel, Resort Hotel &
Theme Park Hotel
Genting Hotel, Resort Hotel and Theme Park Hotel will be undergoing major
room renovations with completion scheduled by year end. The Genting Hotel
will subsequently be renamed as “Maxims Genting” with all suite rooms type.
The Resort and Theme Park Hotel upon completion will have a new and modern
3-4 stars room types accommodation to offer. The room inventories will be
substantially reduced for both renovation and to buffer off the noise level.

Promotion Bureau chooses Al Jazeera
Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau has chosen Al Jazeera as a strategic
partner in showcasing Sri Lanka to the discerning traveler from the Middle
Eastern region. With increase in travel from the Middle East last year, Sri
Lanka expects to further boost arrivals from the region. The diversity in
recreation of the nature, adventure, culture, along with the traditional sun
and sand in Sri Lanka will be viewed by the nearly 50 million viewers on the
Al Jazeera network worldwide through its Arabic and English versions.
New hotel at the Dead Sea
Swiss-Belhotel International, which manages 40 hotels and projects globally,
announced their eighth hotel in the Middle East region to be named Swiss-Belhotel
Dead Sea, Jordan, scheduled for completion in 2010. Located on the northern
shores of the Dead Sea the new four-star hotel will feature 165 guest rooms,
four food and beverage outlets, banqueting and meeting facilities, and a
wellness spa.
The Westin acquires racing yacht
The
Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and Marina, scheduled to open in May,
is set to offer the ultimate in team building activities with the recent
acquisition of a stunning, Archambault 35 racing yacht which will offer
corporate groups the chance to take to the open sea and ride the waves at
top speed. The Archambault 35 is an award-winner of the Maktoum Sailing
Trophy in 2007 and is the perfect sailing vessel for competition
St. Regis expands into Bahrain
