Rose Rayhaan by Rotana official inaugurated in Dubai
Rotana Hotels has officially inaugurated the 333m-high Rose Rayhaan by
Rotana, Dubai's latest landmark, which is certified as the tallest hotel in
the world by the Guinness Book of World Records. Rose Rayhaan by Rotana is
not only the tallest hotel in the world, but also the UAE flagship for
Rotana's alcohol-free brand Rayhaan Hotels & Resorts, which will assist
Rotana to position its brand internationally. Rotana will be operating 11
hotels in Dubai, with two more scheduled to open during the first quarter of
2010.
Omran celebrates opening of Swiss-Belhotel Resort Masirah
Omran, the Government of Oman's tourism development and investment arm, has
celebrated the grand opening of Swiss-Belhotel Resort Masirah. The 21-room
and -chalet resort, owned by Omran and operated by Swiss-Belhotel
International, is located 15km off the southeast coast of Oman in Masirah,
an area famed for its beaches and home to all four of Oman's nesting species
of turtles. The area also offers a range of water sports and excursions in
the nearby hills. Masirah is a unique wildlife experience with turtle
breeding grounds, beautiful beaches and facilities for water sports and
diving.
Sri Lanka becoming a popular cruise call
Calls by international cruise vessels to Sri Lanka are on the rise,
according to the Middle East office of Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB),
with an increasing number of cruise liners including Sri Lanka as a port of
call in their itineraries. Several cruise lines had changed their
itineraries in the past but the cruise line business is now said to be
picking up with the latest operator to launch visits to Sri Lanka being
Louis Cruises India. Among the cruise lines serving the country is
Aquamarine,
a ship belonging to Louis Cruise Line of Cyprus – said to be the fifth
largest cruise operator in the world, which berthed in Colombo recently on
its maiden voyage with 500 passengers.
Four Seasons Hotel opens in Beirut
Dubai-based Kingdom Hotel Investments (KHI), a leading emerging markets
hotel investment company, has announced the official opening of Four Seasons
Beirut. Located on the Corniche in central Beirut, opposite the new Solidere
marina, the five-star property comprises 230 rooms and suites, four food and
beverage outlets, a ballroom, a business centre with five meeting rooms, and
a spa and health club, which includes a rooftop swimming pool.
Grand Hyatt Muscat welcomes single female travellers
Grand Hyatt Muscat in Oman has introduced a new service for single female
travellers. Women travelling alone are now able to enjoy a new service that
features special check-in at the front desk and guest relations staff who
will accompany the ladies to their room at all times. The rooms are
centrally located near the elevators and lobby, and are non-interconnecting
and high floor rooms.
Louvre and Golden Tulip join to become eighth
largest group
STARWOOD Capital, which owns Louvre Hotels purchased the Golden Tulip group
earlier this year making it the world’s eighth-largest hospitality group
with 1,180-plus hotels and more than 100,000 rooms. Golden Tulip is a
worldwide hospitality company with more than 260 hotels and 26,000 rooms in
more than 45 countries. This strategic alliance will open doors for Louvre
Hotels into many markets including China, India and the Middle East. “Louvre
Hotels will offer a wide range of hotel segments in the region from four to
one-star brands. Our brands include the Kyriad, Campanile, Kyriad Prestige
and Premiere Classe. And now, with our alliance with Golden Tulip, we are
taking our brands international. Currently most of the hotels are in Western
Europe, specifically in the French market, but also in the Netherlands, the
UK, Spain, Portugal, Poland and Italy. |
