launches new brand
‘Wonderful Indonesia’ label a good fit for the country and its tourism
assets, according to travel trade. Feedback on Indonesia’s new brand
campaign Wonderful Indonesia, launched January 1 after a three-year wait,
has been positive so far, with comments from the travel industry that the
brand is catchy and faithfully describes what Indonesia has to offer.
Indonesia is luar biasa (unique) as we say in Bahasa Indonesia, and the word
‘wonderful’ is able to express all the luar biasa things that we have to
offer, like wonderful nature, wonderful culture, wonderful people and
wonderful food.
Hilton opens new hotel in Sharjah
Hilton Worldwide has proudly announced the signing of a management agreement
with the Bin Otaiba Investment Group for a new Hilton Hotels and Resorts
property in Sharjah, thus marking the company’s entry into the emirate. The
259-room Hilton Sharjah, scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2011, is
conveniently situated on the Corniche Road, 15km from Sharjah International
Airport and 10km from Dubai International Airport – recognised as one of the
busiest airports in the world.
Ritz-Carlton opens second Dubai
property
The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company has launched the much anticipated
Ritz-Carlton, Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), the company’s
second property in Dubai and the sixth in the region. The 341-room,
Ritz-Carlton, DIFC is the only hotel directly linked to the DIFC complex.
The property boasts five food and beverage outlets including the social hub
No. 5, the hotel bar which opens to the DIFC complex; Blue Rain, signature
Thai fine-dining restaurant; Can Can, a French all-day dining brasserie and
the Center Cut steakhouse. The Lobby Lounge & Terrace offers a casual
elegance while you savour the taste of Ritz-Carlton’s distinctive afternoon
tea. In the same location Ritz-Carlton also manages 124 serviced apartments
ranging in size from 125 to 350 sq m and featuring one- to four-bedroom,
furnished luxury units
Coral property gets new name and look
The Coral Residence Tower Fujairah has changed name to become the Coral
Suites Hotel Fujairah, a move designed to communicate the new status of the
property as one of the emirate’s premium accommodation options. All
facilities are in the process of being upgraded including the lobby,
reception, restaurant, gym and spa and there are also improvements underway
regarding amenities and standards in the existing apartment living and
bedroom areas. Located in the centre of Fujairah town, the property features
172 apartments ranging from deluxe studios to executive and royal suites, as
well as the 24-hour Al Nafoora restaurant, Rumours Cafe, the Gym & Tonic
health club on the 10th floor, with fitness centre, pool and spa facilities,
and free transfers to Fujairah beach.
Hotel Missoni Kuwait to open March 1
The Hotel Missoni Kuwait, a joint venture between the Italian fashion house
Missoni and Rezidor Hotel Group, is on schedule to open its doors on March
1.
The luxury hotel, which is the second branded outlet unveiled
by Missoni, will be located in the Salmiya district of Kuwait City. A
Rezidor spokesperson has confirmed that a soft opening will see the hotel
unveiled to the public on March 1, while an official launch will be held in
the summer and will be attended by lead designer Rosita Missoni. Famous for
its striped designs and loud flamboyant colours, the hotel will also include
a Six Senses Spa. Guests can expect to be chaperoned in a Maserati limo.
Bahrain’s new Sofitel offers taste of France
The long-awaited opening of the Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq Thalassa Sea & Spa
will take place at the end of the month and, in honour of its French parent
company, the hotel’s first event will be the closing gala dinner as sponsor
of the island’s French Week which takes place from February 23 to March 1.
The $150-million, five-star property will offer a total of 262 lavish sea
view rooms, including 28 suites, alongside the GCC’s first thalassotherapy
spa. |
