Anantara announces development in Oman
Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas, a leading developer and operator of luxury
resorts and spas recently announced the signing of a new management contract
for its first Anantara Resort in the Sultanate of Oman. Anantara will
partner with Blue City Company 1 (BCC1) to develop the 100-room resort and
spa which will be located on a natural peninsula some 60 minutes from the
historical city of Muscat.
Hilton Fujairah unveils new look
The 103-room, suite and chalet Hilton Fujairah Resort now boasts a new look
following an extensive $3.3million refurbishment programme. The renovation
has resulted in the complete overhaul of the hotel premises, and includes a
refit of all guest rooms with large bathrooms and walk-in showers, as well
as plasma screen TVs, a non-smoking reception, a re-styled lobby, new F&B
and leisure facilities, and personalised parking places for each chalet.
UAE announces
first InterContinental Beach Resort
InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced the signing
of an agreement with Abu Dhabi-based Seba Properties for the development of
the InterContinental Fujairah Resort, a new beachfront property in the UAE.
The 291-room hotel is set to be the first InterContinental beach resort
property to open in the UAE adding to the growing portfolio of over 150
InterContinental hotels worldwide. Expected to open by the end of 2010,
InterContinental Fujairah Resort will be surrounded by natural landscapes
set against the backdrop of the Hajar Mountains with views across the Indian
Ocean.
Crowne Plaza planned in Oman
OMRAN, the Government of Oman’s tourism and development executive arm, and
InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) have announced the signing of an
agreement to develop the Crowne Plaza Duqum Resort, the second Crowne Plaza
resort in the Sultanate of Oman. Crowne Plaza Duqum Resort, which is
scheduled to open in 2011, will consist of 228 rooms including 11 executive
suites. The property is in close proximity to Duqum town on the Arabian Sea,
which is reinventing itself as Oman’s next major industrial and commercial
hub
Park Inn to open in Muscat
The Rezidor Hotel Group and Al Habib Real Estate Company are set to open the
first Park Inn in the GCC in Muscat in the first quarter of 2009. The
175-room, four-star hotel has been designed keeping the business traveller
in mind with a business centre which will contain four meeting halls of
various sizes and an executive boardroom. The Park Inn Muscat will be the
only hotel in Muscat with a rooftop swimming pool and a poolside restaurant.
